What is the reason for the air compressor to emit malodorous gas?

There may be a few people who will encounter air compressors to emit malodorous gases. Why do air compressors emit malodorous gases? Is there any way to solve this?

The reason why the air compressor discharges the malodorous gas:

Air compressor

First, the oil problem

If the air compressor uses mineral oil, most of the mineral oil contains polar anti-wear additives. This additive is mainly phosphorus/sulfur/chlorine. At high temperatures, it produces malodorous gases with oxygen in the air. Therefore, In general, this additive is not recommended for use at elevated temperatures.

Second, the air brought in

It may be a substance containing phosphorus/sulfur/chlorine brought in the air. Try to observe whether there is chemical gas or chemical dust nearby.

Third, the rubber hose meets high temperature

The rubber hose that may be used is neoprene, and the rubber tube is dissolved in the high-temperature lubricating oil, so that a malodorous gas is generated. In general, a synthetic ester oil of a diester is used. The diester is easily dissolved and has a high corrosiveness. At high temperatures, the rubber is easily swelled, and a malodorous gas is generated.

Fourth, the pigment problem

A pigment that is not resistant to high temperatures may be added to the oil that may be substituted. Most of the pigments generally contain elements such as phosphorus/sulfur/chlorine. The pigments generate malodorous gases with oxygen at high temperatures.
